Tennis Instructor: a Job of Passion

You do not have to be competitive athlete to be a highly respected participant in a sport. You can stay in shape, and you can be a model, a mentor for successful competitors, drawing more and more extremely talented students and / or teams to instruct. When you know how to play you are likely to be an excellent teacher. The tennis instructor is, (contrary to some people’s beliefs) often just as passionate about his or her career as any professional athlete, scientist, artist, and many, many more choice professionals.

The exciting, challenging, and physically demanding, recreation as well as competitive sport, to be specific: tennis. But of course, the same notions apply to many sports. Though a lot of people do enjoy competition and performance very much, there are many people who want to continue well beyond the common age range for the competitive player.

Many individuals have been great tennis and / or other sports players, and have subsequently gone on to be great teachers, coaches, and even administrative professionals in the game of tennis. For someone who really loves his or her athletic activity, it is possible to remain in the career that is (and always will be) his or her true passion in life. And there are, as a matter of fact, many people who become instructors and decide that teaching the sport is what they love, even more than playing competitively.

When you instruct serious tennis players with the absolute best of your ability, you can transform potential into crowd pleasing victories. The sky is the limit . . . as they say . . . when you are a dedicated, healthy, and well-trained person. That is, a kind of expert in the particular sport you love most.

Of course, my absolute preference for both recreational as well as a great means for the purpose of cardiovascular exercise, is dancing. I have been both a student as well as a teacher of the fine art of dancing for over twenty years. Dance, also being a sport of great athletic activity and strict performance, many people appreciate it as an athletic activity of preference. But, as a very fine example of another kind of a wonderful person who made an incredible impact on the history of dancing with her athletic enthusiasm, is a woman named Martha Grahm.

Virtually it is recorded in the history of dance that this adored and beautiful woman, Martha Grahm was an individual whose entire life was dedicated to dancing. Until she rested softly and briefly upon her death bed, this famous dancer was an instructor with great talents in teaching – even as her body became weaker and her ability to demonstrate diminished. Boxing professionals who become trainers also have similar stories. Nevertheless, there are people with a sudden adoration for instructing and / or coaching.

Despite the former dreams that individuals inclined to teach or coach tennis may have had (at one time or another) may fade away. Dreams of trophy shelves and mansions sometimes become less important than doing what you love. There is a certain satisfaction people have when they realize that they have it in them to make someone with a lot of potential into an amazing tennis player. First, of course, one most be one of the great tennis (or other of the many sports) players – in order to pass along the knowledge and skills they posses.
